BUILT BY WOMEN WHO GET IT

Because we’ve been there. And we knew there had to be a better way.
We’re Laurie and Dodie. And yes, we’re in it, too.

We didn’t launch Shebang because menopause was some fascinating business opportunity. We created it because our hormones went rogue and nothing out there felt like us. The products were clinical, the advice was outdated, and the vibe? Kind of soul-sucking, if we’re being honest.

So, we did what any two women with hot flashes and a sense of humor would do: we built the thing we wished we had.

Shebang is your monthly box of real-talk and relief. Curated by two friends (hi!) who test, vet, and genuinely use everything we include. Because we’re right here in the trenches with you. Every box is packed with products that support your symptoms and your spirit. Think of it as a care package from your future self.

We're not here to fix you. You're not broken. We're here to walk with you. Through the WTF moments, the mood swings, the body changes, and the wild, wonderful ride of midlife.

So grateful to be doing this with you. Even the sweaty parts.

With love and a fan in every room,

Get to Know the Ladies Behind Shebang

Meet Laurie

If you told my younger self that I’d one day be living on a 27-acre hobby farm with 14 chickens, a dog, two cats (despite the allergies), big gardens, and the love of my life - she’d have raised a penciled-in eyebrow. She thought I’d be on TV, probably hosting a talk show. And while I didn’t end up behind a news desk, I did land somewhere even better: confidently living in my purpose, raising three incredible humans, and building a business that empowers women to reclaim their power during midlife.

These days, I’m all about second chances, soul-aligned choices, and bold reinventions. Here’s a little more about what makes me, me:

  • Mindset is my hill. I believe we can change our lives in an instant, even when things feel messy, chaotic, or out of control. I’m living proof that you can start over at any time and create the life you’ve always wanted.
  • I light up when I’m creating, connecting, and learning. Whether I’m diving deep into midlife wellness research, sketching out a new idea, or having a heart-to-heart with another woman on the path, I’m in my element when I’m building something meaningful.
  • My “too much” is my magic. I used to tone down my energy, passion, and opinions. Not anymore. My outspokenness and creative drive are my superpowers and I’ve reclaimed every sparkly bit of them.
  • Soul tagline? Heart-led, purpose-fueled, and never done growing.

Meet Dodie

If you sat down with little me and asked what life would look like, she’d probably grin and say, “Something creative and definitely helping people.” Even as a child, I knew I was meant to make things and help others feel loved in the process.

After years of caring for others...raising my son, being a homemaker, caretaker, burden carrier, grocery hauler, and human everything-Uber, I finally learned something that changed everything: loving myself first didn’t make me less available to others. It gave me more room to love them well. That’s the space I create from now.

These days, beauty and kindness are the anchors of how I move through the world. Here’s what shapes the heart of my work:

  • Beauty is where I begin. Not the kind that just looks good, the kind that feels good. That slows you down, grounds you, and reminds you of your worth. Whether it’s rearranging furniture, knocking out walls, setting a table, curating a Shebang box, or creating something from scratch, I believe beauty is a form of care.
  • Kindness is my default. (Unless my hormones are out of whack then all bets are off.) But truly, there’s nothing more meaningful to me than making someone feel acknowledged. Whether it’s a thoughtful touch or being fully present, I believe in the quiet power of showing up with heart.
  • “Too much” used to feel like a flaw. Too loud. Too emotional. Too energetic. Now I see those parts as my superpowers. They help me connect deeply, feel fully, and love fiercely. And I trust them now.
  • Soul tagline? Still soft. Still standing. Still here to nudge and remind women who they are, that they’re not alone and that they’ve always been more powerful than they think.

Pssssst… I know midlife is messy. It’s hilarious. It’s sacred. And I wouldn’t want to be doing this work at any other time, in any other way, with anyone else but the women who know how strong they really are… even when they forget.
